Jay M. Bernstein, MD, practices Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult and Child Strabismus. He is board certified in Ophthalmology and his fellowship training is recognized by the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. Dr. Bernstein received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, completed his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and underwent fellowship training in Pediatric Ophthalmology/Strabismus at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, England. He is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the American Academy of Pediatrics' section of Ophthalmology, and American Academy of Ophthalmology. He was a member of the executive board of the American Academy of Pediatrics section of Ophthalmology. Dr Bernstein has volunteered as a Pediatric Ophthalmology consultant at both St Joseph's School for the Blind and Children's Specialized Hospital in New Jersey. His clinical interests include botulinum toxin as an alternative to surgery and the use of local sedation for adult strabismus surgery. Dr Bernstein teaches the Pediatric residents from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ on pediatric ophthalmic through a rotation in his practice. He is married and has two children.
